Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was a flute, piano and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 70s. She managed to make it with the stipend she received from her students as she worked part-time. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill compared to her student classmates and contemplated a possible alternative path she might follow. Lennox started out as a flute-player with the group Dragons Playground. However she left before the band went on I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. The main part of her role was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until in 1980. As part of this group, she was introduced to Dave Stewart. Together they will create their own group, the Eurythmics pop duo. Lennox began work for Diva in 1992. It was her first solo album. The album was hugely successful both commercially as well as critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs six-album solo that was released in October 2014 included Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs most loved soul jazz and blues tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera is a collection of four impromptu piano pieces was released by Lennox in May 2019. The E.P. is a companion piece to her art installation in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art titled"Now, I'll let You Go... It is also her first independently released album. Annie Lennox born December 25 1954, is a Scottish philanthropist political activist and musician and singer. After minor success as a member of the band called The Tourists in the late 1970s she and fellow musician Dave Stewart went on to gain international recognition as the duo known as Eurythmics during the 80s. Lennox began her solo career in 1992, with the release of Diva with a number of successful tracks like Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa an album from her studio, that was released in 1995 features songs that are re-imagined from her most popular songs including the No MoreI Still Love Yous (and The Whiter Shade of Pale). She has six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album to her credit.
